OpenAI develops artificial general intelligence products including ChatGPT and the GPT model family. Khosla Ventures was the first venture firm to invest, writing a $50 million check around the 2019 OpenAI LP formation, and later raised a $405 million SPV around OpenAI's October 2024 financing.
