Shotaro Furutani
Shotaro Furutani is a Director at EQT and a member of the firm's healthcare sector team in Japan. Based in Tokyo, he works across EQT's Japanese investments, with a focus on healthcare alongside involvement in broader buyout opportunities in the market. Shotaro joined EQT in 2022, bringing sector knowledge and transaction expertise to the firm's investing in the region. Shotaro holds a Bachelor and a Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo. Prior to joining EQT, he spent seven years in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in Tokyo, where he was a Vice President.
