Polina Anikeeva
Head of MIT's Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Matoula S. Salapatas Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, and director of the K. Lisa Yang Brain-Body Center. Leads the Bioelectronics Group, developing multifunctional fibers and magnetic nanomaterials for recording and modulating the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. Earned her MIT PhD in 2009, completed postdoctoral work at Stanford, and joined MIT's faculty in 2011.
