He has backed and partnered with visionary founders building category-defining technology companies from Series A through pre-IPO. Over his career, Nikhil has invested in more than twenty companies across AI, software, and Internet, with seven IPO exits. His investments include OpenAI, Anthropic, Unity, Bytedance, GitLab, Airbnb, GCash, Lyric, Planetscale, Thunes, inDrive, Tetrascience, and Viz.ai, among others. Before joining Insight in 2020, Nikhil was a Partner at Altimeter Capital, where he helped expand the firm’s venture practice and led private investments in software and Internet companies. He began his career at Goldman Sachs advising technology clients, then joined Bain Capital’s private equity group. He is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Business School. Nikhil lives in San Francisco with his wife. Outside of investing, he enjoys running in Golden Gate Park, playing tennis, and grilling with family and friends.
