Nick Sinai

Insight Partners source, reviewed October 8, 2026: Nick Sinai is a Managing Director at Insight Partners. Nick works with portfolio companies entering and growing in the public sector, runs Insight’s Government Advisory Board, and invests in national security and gov-tech companies.  Nick is a board member or observer at HawkEye360, LeoLabs, Onebrief, Shift5, and Govly. Nick joined Insight in 2014 from the White House, where he was U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer. Nick led President Obama’s Open Data Initiatives, co-led the Open Government Initiative, and helped start the Presidential Innovation Fellows program. Prior, Nick played a key role in crafting the National Broadband Plan at the FCC. Nick is currently an Executive Fellow at Harvard Business School and an advisor to the Q-Lab at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center.  Nick has previously served as Adjunct Faculty at Harvard Kennedy School, teaching digital government in the core curriculum and leading an award-winning field course: Tech and Innovation in Government . Nick also serves as a board member of nonprofits Coding It Forward and Renaissance Philanthropy . Nick writes and teaches about technology in government, and served as a commissioner on the Atlantic Council's Commission on Defense Innovation Adoption . He’s been quoted in the New York Times, Economist, and WSJ, and has testified in front of Congress . Nick helped found the U.S. Digital Corps , a new two-year federal fellowship for early-career technologists, launched in the summer of 2021. Nick is the co-author, with Marina Nitze, of Hack Your Bureaucracy: Get Things Done No Matter What Your Role On Any Team, published in 2022 .
