Matt Thornton

Matt Thornton is the founder and principal of Thornton Capital, a Louisville single-family investment office launched after the 2019 sale of the Thorntons convenience-store business. The primary biography published by Platform Real Estate Group identifies him as a founding principal of that real-estate venture and records his 2001–2019 service as president and CEO of Thorntons. He also provided seed backing to Chicago real-estate investor L3 Capital in 2009. Endeavor identifies him as a regional board chair. These operating-company sales, outside roles and seed commitments are not recorded as cash raised by Thornton Capital. The unrelated Rapta executive Matthew D. Thornton remains a separate person.
