Jason Mellad

Jason Mellad co-founded and led Start Codon during its independent venture-builder period. Primary Cambridge2019–2024 publications identify him as CEO/co-founder, while Companies House records his Start Codon Ltd directorship15November2018–25January2025 and GP directorship7May2019–25January2025. His executive title is therefore historically qualified rather than treated as current CIC-era employment. Earlier roles include Cambridge Epigenetix CEO, Horizon Discovery diagnostics business development and Cambridge Enterprise. He holds a Cambridge medicine doctorate and Tulane molecular biology/chemistry degree.
