Independent AI researcher and educator producing technical and general-audience courses on neural networks and large language models. A founding member of OpenAI and former Director of AI at Tesla, where he led the Autopilot computer-vision team. Returned to OpenAI in 2023–2024 to build a team working on midtraining and synthetic data. Earned his Stanford PhD with Fei-Fei Li and designed and taught Stanford's CS231n deep-learning course.
