Amir Malayery
Insight Partners source, reviewed October 8, 2026: Amir Malayery is a Managing Director at Insight Partners, where he co-leads the firm’s secondaries strategies. Over his 17-year career, he has deployed more than $1 billion across venture capital and growth equity investments, with a particular focus over the past decade on direct secondary purchases, GP-led transactions, and concentrated LP interest secondaries. Amir partners closely with founders, general partners, and limited partners to craft bespoke solutions that align with long-term strategic goals and unlock liquidity across the technology ecosystem. He has authored several white papers on best practices for structuring continuation vehicles, LP tenders, and other programmatic liquidity transactions. Prior to joining Insight Partners, Amir was a Managing Director at Industry Ventures, a pioneer in the venture secondary market later acquired by Goldman Sachs. Earlier in his career, he founded and served as CEO of Dapper Shopping, an eCommerce company providing universal checkout. Amir began his investing career at Summit Partners, where he focused on technology and internet investments. Amir holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Stanford University, where he was an offensive lineman on the football team. Outside of work, he enjoys voice over acting, emceeing friends’ weddings, and performing improv comedy.
