Insight Partners source, reviewed October 8, 2026: Allan Cockriel is the Chief Information Data Officer at ASML. Before ASML, Allan spent the last five years as CIO for Global Functions and Information Risk Management, and the final year as their CISO. At Shell, Allan focused on driving large-scale IT transformations, including shaping, and driving the digitalization agendas across the Finance, HR, Sustainability, and Legal directorates. He also championed artificial intelligence and data productization. As CISO, Allan led the formation of a unified security organization and a capability uplift that led to Shell moving into the top quartile globally for cyber security maturity. Before Shell, Allan was the Group CIO for FTSE-listed Petrofac based in UAE and London. Allan began his career at General Electric (GE), where he spent 14 years in various leadership roles in finance, operations, and several CIO roles after graduating from GE’s accelerated leadership development programs. Allan graduated from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with degrees in IT, Corporate Finance, and Risk Management whilst on a full academic scholarship as an Evans Scholar. His postgraduate studies at GE Crotonvile and the London School of Economics focused on technology, leadership, and business transformation. Allan lives in the Netherlands, is married, has two young children, and enjoys hiking, travel, and cooking.
