Alfonso Bassols

Leads fund strategy, manager selection, and portfolio construction across Aldea's integrated investment platform. Alfonso brings over two decades of experience across venture capital and company building, with a focus on portfolio construction, manager evaluation, and long-term capital allocation. His work centers on identifying emerging managers early and building diversified portfolios designed to perform across cycles. Prior to co-founding Aldea, Alfonso was employee #1 at Nauta Capital, where he helped scale the firm from its first €8m fund to over €500m in assets under management. During this period, he participated in more than 65 investments across Europe and the U.S., gaining deep exposure to fund formation, portfolio dynamics, and cross-border venture ecosystems. Earlier in his career, Alfonso served as CFO/COO of a transatlantic technology scale-up, giving him an operator's perspective on growth, capital efficiency, and organizational scaling. He works closely across Aldea's investment activities, contributing both to fund strategy and direct investment decisions. Alfonso holds a BBA and an MBA from ESADE Business School.
