Aaron Nelson

Aaron Nelson is a physician-scientist and life-sciences venture investor. Novartis Venture Fund’s own biography identifies his earlier investing role at dRx Capital, the Novartis–Qualcomm joint investment company focused on digital medicine. His prior Novartis work included technology strategy, the Trials of the Future program and investigative toxicology leadership. His education includes medicine at Tufts, cell and microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania and Karolinska Institute, and an undergraduate degree at Cornell. dRx general-partner status is also published in the RESI organizer’s original2016 program; no current dRx or current NVF employment inferred from historical web pages. Aaron joined Venture Investments (US) Inc. in June, 2025. Previously, Aaron was Managing Director at the Novartis Venture Fund, leading Seed & Series A investments in therapeutic drug discovery projects.   He also helped a digital health investment program at Novartis, called dRx Capital. Before working as an investment professional, Aaron worked on across multiple Research & Development units within Novartis, including Trials of the Future and Investigative Toxicology. Aaron earned a BA at Cornell University, a PhD in Cell and Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania and conducted post-doctoral studies at the Karolinska Institutet, and received an MD from Tufts University.
