Solgate
Solgate is a Klosterneuburg, Austria-based biotechnology company founded in 2020 as a CeMM and ISTA spinout. It develops drugs targeting solute carrier membrane proteins using cell-based screening, chemoproteomics and medicinal chemistry, with programs relevant to neurological, autoimmune and metabolic disorders. Ariel Bensimon leads the company as co-founder and CEO. Its first financing with ISTcube, now XISTA Science Ventures, and unnamed private investors was announced in February 2021. It has also received AWS and FFG research grants. Solgate retains its own platform and pipeline alongside a collaboration with Curie.Bio through the separate US venture Cellgate Therapeutics.
