Qubigen

Parkville, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia · Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Qubigen provides managed AI drug-design services for biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical partners and research institutes. Its FedAIDD platform combines federated learning, molecular generation, virtual screening, molecular mechanics and quantum chemistry to design and optimise small-molecule candidates for specific protein targets. Workflows learn from partners’ protected datasets while assessing binding, synthetic feasibility and drug-like properties, including absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity. The company formed in2024 from the merger of Presagen and Qubist Molecular Design and operates from Melbourne and Adelaide. Its collaborations include early-stage neuroscience and oncology discovery programs; a2026 University of Melbourne project aims to develop brain-penetrant STING inhibitors for neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disease. These are discovery and preclinical research programs, rather than approved medicines. Qubigen’s quantum-chemistry work is computational drug modelling, not quantum-computer hardware.
