Qlayers

Qlayers develops and supplies robotic systems that apply protective coatings to large industrial surfaces, including storage tanks, ship hulls and wind-energy assets. Its semi-autonomous magnetic crawler robots use a patented spray-shielding system to control paint application and reduce overspray, material waste and operators’ exposure to dangerous working heights. The 10QX system combines a remotely operated crawler with paint-mixing and pumping equipment, sensors and application-data recording to support consistent coating quality and traceable maintenance work. The Delft-based company sells and rents its systems and provides operator training and technical support through international partners. It also researches functional microstructured coatings, including drag-reducing sharkskin riblets.
