Pixl Bio
Pixl Bio combines human stem-cell-derived models, automated laboratory experiments and AI analysis to help pharmaceutical researchers study disease, drug responses and toxicity. Its products include hepatocytes, stellate cells, organoids and engineered disease models, alongside cell-painting microscopy and custom experimental services. The company uses image-based phenomics to measure cellular changes and turn them into predictions and mechanistic insights. Formed through Phenaros’s acquisition of DefiniGEN in July 2025, it brings together AI and automation capabilities in Uppsala with cell-biology expertise in Cambridge. Its planned pixlOS software connects experimental data, research workflows and predictive models.
