Novocuff develops the Cervical Control System (CCS), an obstetric medical device designed to support and close the cervix, retain amniotic fluid after preterm prelabor rupture of membranes (PPROM), and maintain cervical length in pregnancies affected by cervical shortening. Its aim is to extend pregnancy and reduce prematurity; its safety and effectiveness remain under clinical evaluation. Following two first-in-human feasibility studies in Panama, the company opened the FDA IDE-authorized RETAIN pivotal study in 2025. This randomized, multicenter US trial compares CCS plus standard care with standard care alone for singleton pregnancies affected by PPROM, with planned enrollment of up to 272 participants. The device remains investigational and has no marketing-approval claim on the company’s current website. Founded by Amy Degenkolb and Donald Lee in 2021, Novocuff is a company-in-residence at Fogarty Innovation in Mountain View, California.

Financing precision: the July 17, 2024 issuer confirms a closed USD26m Series A. AXA IM Alts led with USD14m through its Global Healthcare Private Equity Strategy. USD14m is a ticket within USD26m, not additional round capital or a fund close. Avestria investor10888, Laerdal investor10378 and the women’s-health RH Capital investor5616 are actual named participants with undisclosed individual tickets; no leading claim is made for them. AXA IM Alts, Laborie and March of Dimes / Innovation Fund are queued for full profiles and exact institutional identities before additional investor links. The company’s own post also tags First Avenue Ventures; that tag resolves to an Australian namesake absent from the main issuer participant list, so exact actual-investor identity remains unresolved. No fund allocation is inferred. Legacy RH Capital Funds I/II and their current Foreground Capital manager remain distinct. SHOW MORE

Team coverage: ten unique people appear on the current dedicated About Us roster. Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Medical Affairs labels are retained as published; no unproved executive rank or full-time employment is assumed. Lisa Tehrani appears as Director of Marketing on the still-accessible older home page and as the September 2025 issuer media contact. She is absent from the current dedicated roster, so her role is explicitly qualified. Four July 2024 issuer board affiliations are retained with current-status-unverified qualifications. These do not establish a complete current board census. The issuer explicitly identifies Amy Degenkolb and Amelia Degenkolb as the same founder, Amelia “Amy” Degenkolb. SHOW MORE

Clinical status: the current company website identifies CCS as an investigational device limited by US law to investigational use. FDA IDE authorization and the RETAIN study opened in 2025 permit clinical investigation, not product marketing. The current company research synopsis labels RETAIN ongoing and lists ten recruiting US sites, with registry identifier NCT07216625. Co-principal investigators Dwight Rouse and Lisa Zuckerwise are external study investigators; no company employment or board role is inferred. SHOW MORE
