Neurosoft Bioelectronics
Geneva, Switzerland
Neurosoft Bioelectronics is an EPFL spin-off developing soft, stretchable brain-computer interfaces that rest on the cortical surface without penetrating brain tissue. Its electrodes record and stimulate neural activity while conforming to the brain. SOFT ECoG is designed for intraoperative and short-term subdural recording and stimulation, including epilepsy surgery mapping. MINDZ is a folded electrode interface intended for deployment through a small skull opening, initially to help localize drug-resistant epileptic activity. Its development programmes also include SOFT TINNIT, an implantable closed-loop neuromodulation system for severe tinnitus, and Synapsuit, which combines neural decoding with a wearable exosuit for people with impaired arm and hand movement. The company is developing AI models for decoding cortical signals and discovering neurological biomarkers. Headquartered in Geneva with a US subsidiary in New York, it operates a Swiss medical-device production line and holds ISO 13485 certification. In May 2026 it reported testing its interfaces in ten patients across ongoing studies at UTHealth Houston and UMC Utrecht. Its brain interfaces remain investigational and are not yet available for sale in the United States or Europe.
