Neurolieve Biosciences

London, United Kingdom

Neurolieve Biosciences is a London biotech developing NLV-01, an investigational biologic for peripheral neuropathic pain. Its bioengineered fusion protein is designed to selectively activate galanin receptor2 (GalR2) in peripheral nerves, aiming to provide pain relief and support nerve repair. The company describes a design that keeps the protein outside the brain to avoid central nervous system effects; these are development goals and preclinical findings, rather than proven clinical outcomes. The lead programme initially targets chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, with potential expansion into diabetic neuropathy and other peripheral pain conditions. The company reports that discovery and lead selection are complete, preclinical validation is in progress, IND-enabling work is the next milestone and clinical development remains future work. Its own footer explicitly states that NLV-01 has not been approved by any regulatory authority. Neurolieve was co-founded with NLC and LifeArc and develops technology originating from LifeArc’s collaboration with University of Bristol pain researcher David Wynick. NLC provides venture-building support and backing; LifeArc contributes protein engineering, licensed commercial rights and continuing laboratory collaboration.
