Neurescence

Neurescence is a Toronto-based neuroscience technology company acquired by Bruker in 2022. It developed fiber-bundle miniature microscopes for simultaneous optical recording and stimulation across multiple brain or spinal-cord regions in freely behaving animals. Its Quartet and Chromatone systems support calcium imaging and optogenetics, while its research software incorporates machine learning for neuronal image analysis. Yasaman Soudagar, Sepideh Hashemi and Taufik Valiante are documented co-founders. Its original Canadian corporation was incorporated on August 18, 2014 and amalgamated into a corporation of the same name on November 30, 2022; Bruker’s acquisition announcement separately describes a 2015 founding. Neurescence received a USD100,000 Luminate accelerator investment through the second cohort selected in November 2018, as well as Canadian NRC research and youth-employment contributions. Bruker announced its acquisition agreement on November 14, 2022; subsequent Bruker materials confirm the acquisition, with financial terms undisclosed. The technology is for neuroscience research and preclinical applications.
