NRG Therapeutics is a UK clinical-stage neuroscience company developing oral, brain-penetrant medicines for ALS and Parkinson’s disease. Its small molecules target the mitochondrial regulator NLRX1 to inhibit opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore, aiming to preserve neuronal energy production and reduce neuroinflammation and neuron loss. Lead candidate NRG5051 is being evaluated in a Phase 1 trial in healthy adults and people with ALS or Parkinson’s; Phase 2 proof-of-concept development in ALS is planned. The medicines are investigational.
