MedicQuant develops a point-of-care diagnostic platform that measures concentrations of small-molecule drugs directly from whole blood. Its first product targets direct oral anticoagulants in emergency stroke care, helping clinicians determine more quickly whether patients can receive treatment. The Aarhus University spin-out combines DNA nanotechnology, a disposable flow-front immunoassay cartridge and fluorescence readout, designed to provide laboratory-grade measurements in approximately 10 minutes. The platform is also being investigated for other drug measurements.
