Flow Computing

Flow Computing is a Finnish semiconductor company developing licensable processor architecture and compiler technology to accelerate general-purpose parallel computing. Its Flow PPU, or Parallel Processing Unit, is an on-die coprocessor designed to work alongside conventional CPU cores, improving how parallel workloads execute without tying the technology to a particular instruction set or chip foundry. CPU vendors can configure the architecture for different processor designs, while Flow’s compiler tools help existing software use the parallel hardware. The company initially targets AI cloud CPUs, with planned applications in robotics, autonomous systems and consumer devices. Flow spun out of VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in 2024.
