Dionymer

Dionymer is an industrial-biotechnology company producing biobased, biodegradable polymer materials from food waste and agricultural by-products. It prepares waste-derived nutrients, ferments them with microorganisms that accumulate PHA biopolymers, and extracts polymer grades for powders, coatings, encapsulation and plastic applications. Its PHBV and other PHA materials aim to replace petroleum-derived polymers in cosmetics, packaging, textiles and other manufactured products. The company operates a preindustrial pilot in Mérignac and is developing an industrial demonstrator as it commercialises its materials, including Orya cosmetic powders and Orpel polymers for injection and extrusion. Announced plans for larger plants are future capacity objectives, not existing commercial output.
