Archean
Archean, operated by AIMATX Inc., develops new materials by combining AI design with laboratory synthesis and physical validation. It starts with the performance, manufacturing and cost constraints of an industrial application, designs a matching material and synthesis route, makes the material, and tests it under real operating conditions. Its technical origins are in UC Berkeley’s Bakar Institute of Digital Materials for the Planet. Earlier work under the AIMATX name focused on metal-organic and covalent-organic frameworks for applications such as carbon capture, water absorption and drug delivery. The company supplies validated materials and products rather than requiring customers to test lists of computational candidates themselves.
