Anaxis Pharma

Parkville, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Anaxis Pharma is an Australian biotechnology company developing small-molecule inhibitors and modulators of necroptosis, an inflammatory form of programmed cell death involving kinases and pseudokinases. Its discovery programs seek treatments for acute and chronic inflammatory diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, liver fibrosis and reperfusion injury. The company combines Walter and Eliza Hall Institute biological and structural-research expertise with SYNthesis Research medicinal chemistry, conducting hit-to-lead work, lead optimisation, screening and preclinical candidate selection. It describes two preclinical programs supported by pharmaceutical partners. SYNthesis BioVentures identifies Anaxis as the wholly owned main operating subsidiary of Catalyst Therapeutics. Published plans to advance candidates towards clinical studies are not evidence that human trials have started or that a medicine is approved.
